22Bet - Kaduna
Is 22Bet legal in Kaduna? See how Sharia-state rules differ from Lagos, what the brand's licences cover, and what players do in practice.
What 22Bet states about its licences
Kaduna is a Sharia state, and its approach to gambling is much stricter than in Lagos. 22Bet says it operates under Lagos and Oyo state licences and names the National Lottery Regulatory Commission as its federal regulator. Check the current state position before you register, and play only if you are 18 or older and comfortable with the local rules.
22Bet Nigeria is run by Arcadia Hospitality LTD, the provider of the Nigerian 22Bet website. On its own pages the brand names two state licences: one from the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority and one from the Oyo State Gaming and Lottery Board. The home page FAQ also says the platform is licensed and regulated by the National Lottery Regulatory Commission of Nigeria. This is how the brand describes itself, and it is the natural starting point for any question about legality.

Nigeria splits gaming oversight between federal and state level. State bodies such as the Lagos authority issue permits inside their own states, while the federal commission looks at lotteries nationally. A permit from one state does not automatically rewrite another state's laws. That is the heart of the Kaduna question, and it is why a blanket yes or no would be misleading. There is also very little public guidance about a Kaduna gambling licence for online play, so players have to read the situation carefully themselves.
Kaduna and Lagos: why the answer is different
Lagos treats betting and casino play as a regulated commercial activity, with a state authority, published licence numbers and public rules. Kaduna sits in the north, where Sharia forms part of the legal and social framework and gambling is viewed far more strictly. That is why so little has been written for Kaduna players, even though searches for the brand together with Kaduna and for online casinos in Kaduna keep coming. This page tries to answer the whole question in one place.
The Lagos approach
A state authority licenses operators and publishes licence numbers, so players can see who is responsible for oversight and where a licence comes from.
The Kaduna approach
Sharia-based norms make the state much stricter on gambling, so a player in Kaduna cannot simply assume that the rules of Lagos apply at home.
The federal layer
The brand names the National Lottery Regulatory Commission as a national regulator, but state law and religious norms still shape what happens locally.
Your own decision
Many residents weigh faith, family expectations and local rules before deciding. Nobody should feel pushed to play, and choosing not to is perfectly reasonable.
What Kaduna residents do in practice
Searches for slots in Kaduna and for online casinos show that interest is real, particularly among younger adults using phones. Players in neighbouring northern states ask the very same questions, because the rules across the region follow a similar pattern. Those who do choose to play usually treat it as private entertainment with a small, fixed budget, and they keep it separate from family and community life.
- Read the current state position first and decide honestly whether you are comfortable with it.
- Confirm you are 18 or older; the site shows an 18+ notice.
- Keep stakes small and fixed, and never use money meant for family needs or school fees.
- Use only the cashier methods the site lists, such as bank transfer, Visa, Mastercard or Paystack.
- Keep your login details private and use a secure connection.
Many people in Kaduna skip online gambling altogether, and that choice is widely respected. Others look only at sports on the same site rather than at the casino. Whatever you pick, the sensible rule is the same: play only with money you can comfortably afford to lose, and stop the moment it stops being fun.

22Bet in Kaduna: common questions
Is 22Bet legal in Kaduna?
There is no simple yes. Kaduna is a Sharia state with a stricter view of gambling than Lagos. 22Bet says it holds Lagos and Oyo state licences and names the National Lottery Regulatory Commission as its federal regulator. Because state rules apply locally, check the current Kaduna position and your own comfort before registering. You must be 18 or older.
Why is Kaduna treated differently from Lagos?
Lagos runs a state gaming authority that issues licences and publishes rules for operators. Kaduna applies Sharia as part of its legal and social framework, and gambling is viewed far more strictly there. A permit issued in one state does not automatically carry over to another state's rules, which is why the two answers differ.
Which licences does 22Bet state on its site?
The brand names the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority licence LSLGA/OP/OSB/22B230524 and the Oyo State Gaming and Lottery Board licence OYSGB/CASB/250114. The home page FAQ also refers to the National Lottery Regulatory Commission. The operator is Arcadia Hospitality LTD.
Can I play slots on my phone in Kaduna?
The platform offers over 3,000 slot machines and table games and works through a mobile version of the site, an Android app (version 6.0 or higher) and an iOS app (13.0 or higher). Whether to play is a personal decision that depends on local rules and your own values. Only adults aged 18+ should use the site.
Which payment methods can I use?
The site lists bank transfer, Visa, Mastercard, Bitcoin and USDT, with BTC, LTC and DOGE named among the cryptocurrencies. The FAQ also mentions Skrill, Neteller and Paystack. Minimum deposits and withdrawal times are not stated on the public pages, so check the cashier in your account before paying.
What should I do if the site will not open?
Type the official address yourself, switch between mobile data and Wi-Fi, and clear your browser cache. Then try the mobile version or the app. If the problem remains, contact support, which is advertised as available 24/7 through live chat, email and phone, and describe exactly what you see on screen.
How do I withdraw my winnings?
Open My Account and choose Withdraw Funds, then pick a method. Processing time varies depending on the method you choose. Check the limits and any fees shown in your account before you confirm, and keep your registration details accurate so the request goes through smoothly.
